Navi Pillay wins Nobel Peace Prize for advancing peace and international law
South African ICJ judge and former UN human rights chief Navi Pillay has won the Nobel Peace Prize for promoting peace and international law.

Navanethem “Navi” Pillay, a South African judge at the International Court of Justice, has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her work advancing peace and international law.
Jørgen Watne Frydnes, chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, announced the recognition for Pillay, 85, who previously served as the United Nations human rights chief.
The committee also recognised her record of opposing apartheid in South Africa.
