Trinidad and Tobago singer Slinger Francisco, who performed as Mighty Sparrow, has died at 91. His family said in a statement that he died peacefully in New York on Sunday with relatives at his side.
Known as the “calypso king of the world”, Francisco rose to prominence in calypso with his 1956 hit Jean and Dinah.
