Isaias has strengthened into the Atlantic season’s first hurricane and is heading toward the U.S. Gulf Coast.
The National Hurricane Center said late Wednesday that the storm was expected to hit the coast later in the week, bringing heavy rainfall and the possibility of flash flooding.
