Journalists plan a Cairo protest after six Matsadaash colleagues were detained on terrorism charges amid allegations of torture and forced confessions.

Egyptian journalists are organising another protest in Cairo this weekend over the detention of six colleagues from Matsadaash, an independent platform focused on factchecking and investigations.
Authorities arrested the six last week and charged them with terrorism offences. In a statement, officials accused them of operating without a licence and creating false news for the banned Muslim Brotherhood.
Matsadaash staff allege that the detained journalists were tortured in police custody and forced to confess.
