Isaias has strengthened into a Category 2 hurricane as it approaches the Gulf Coast. The Atlantic season’s first hurricane is forecast to intensify rapidly before reaching land.
Landfall is expected late Friday or early Saturday, with dangerous conditions forecast for the Florida Panhandle, southern Alabama and southern Mississippi.
